Every Day Poets announced the winners of their How to Handle Explosives Week Contest today, and my poem “Independence” is one of them! It will be published sometime in early July. Congrats to all the winners!
More Twitter Fiction
This has been a good week for acceptances! My story “The Last Word” was published today at One Forty Fiction, and “Shelf Life” was published yesterday at Seedpod.
Also recently published were “Wet Wings” and “Sweet Red,” both at trapeze magazine.
Twitterings
I have new twitter fiction out! “Honey,” is up at trapeze magazine today. “Raveling” and “Ivy” were both published at Cuento.
In other twitter news, #wordmongering is the place to be! All you NaNoWriMo word war addicts out there, check it out! Now you can feed the addiction any day of the year!
Wordmongering is really simple. On the :00, you GO, and write for 30 minutes. Then take the next 30 minutes to tweet your count, give high fives, get some coffee, and, if you have time, get ready for the next sprint. Or, if you’re like me, run out the door to pick up your kids, and pop back in after they’re asleep, for another go.
Z is for Zero
Zero. Zero days left in the A to Z Challenge – woo hoo, it’s over!
But, wait, this also relates to writing! When I started the A to Z Challenge, I wanted to blog about what I’d learned of the writing life. And Zero reminds me of the saying, You can’t fix nothing. So true!
If there’s anything I’ve learned, this is the most important – keep writing, even if it’s only a trickle of words. Because bad drafts are better than no drafts any day!
Y is for Yarn
Yarn – the continuous thread cats love, and the long, involved story full of fantastic details, occasionally spun by children and spouses.
The writer’s life often involves Yarn.
But if your writing life doesn’t, don’t worry! Sit down and spin one of your own!
